    Once upon a time, in a land far, far, away...
    There lived wizards. Not just any wizards. Famous wizards.
    Who were these famous wizards? Harry Potter and his posse of course!
    And these wizards gave birth to some unusual children.
    You would have thought the kids would be just like their parents, right?
    Well, I'm sorry to inform you that you are very, very wrong.
    Half of them don’t even look like their parents, but that’s another story.

    And you think this story is going to be just about these famous kids?
    No, no, no. These kids have friends. Friends you might have seen before.

    Tibby and Steph are diving in for another year that's sure to be magical.
    But before we begin, I have to ask the million dollar question.

    Chapter One

    So here I was, at the Weasley’s lovely home, a mere three days before I had to go back to Hogwarts. If knew anything about the wizarding word, you’d know that Ron Weasley married Hermione Granger, and they had two kids: My best friend Rose, and her twin, Hugo. Ron has a sister Ginny Weasley, who married Harry Potter. They had three kids: James, who graduated Hogwarts last year, Albus, and Lily. Then, there’s Draco Malfoy. He married some ditz, and they had Scorpious. Teddy is the son of the late Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin, who both died in the Battle of Hogwarts. So where do Tibby and I fit in? Well, I’m muggleborn, fresh from Germany, but after living here so long, I have a pretty heavy British accent. Tibby, on the other hand, is muggleborn from the US. Blonde, and beautiful. Yeap, that’s Tibby.

    I suppose you’re also concerned about what we’re like, too, before you get in too deep. Well, I should tell you that if you like stories about rainbows and butterflies, this isn’t the story for you. So If you do want to listen to me go on and on about our lovely personality traits, then by all means, stick around.

    Let’s see, we’ll start with Tibby. Tibby is what you’d call a “blonde bombshell.” She might look sweet, but she’s the farthest thing from it. I’ve never met a bigger bitch in my life, and I suppose that’s what makes us best friends. She’s cool though, a bit bubbly, but cool. Teddy, on the other hand, is pretty mellow. He’s grown up tough, so I guess that adds to it. He’s quiet and reserved, so it balances everything out. Albus is just like his father, surprisingly. He’s the only one that’s actually like his parents. He’s got Ginny’s fiery attitude, but he has the reserved side of Harry. Rose is the goody-two-shoes. Head girl, good grades, you name anything her mother has done, she’s done too. She rebels a bit though, but then again, I do say it even happens to the best of us. Scorpious, by far, is the badass of the group. He’s not a lot like his father, but he’s pretty similar in the fact that they are both determined to get what they want, which translates into relationships sometimes. Weasley and a Malfoy, anyone? Hugo is by far and away, my personally favorite. If anyone could be completely opposite from their parents, he’s the poster child. He’s dark, handsome, and dangerous. He’s pretty quiet, but he’s far from innocent. He’s simply irresistible, well, in my eyes at least. And this leaves me at the end of the pack. I’m the sweet, innocent, loving girl. I’m one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I bring balance, and loyalty. It’s really a wonder why I’m in Gryffindor, and not in Hufflepuff. But anyway, back to the real story.

    So now I’m standing on the porch of the Weasley household, waiting to ring the muggle doorbell, and be greeted by a tired Hermione, an unshaven Ron, and their two teenagers that I’m proud to call my best friends. Safe to say, living in the wizarding world was far from normal, and raising teenagers in it, wasn’t a piece of cake. According to Hermione, it was like “nailing Jello to a wall.”

    “Hermione? Ron?” I called, not wanting to disturb the quiet peace by ringing the doorbell.

    “STEPH!” Rose came flying down the stairs, flinging open the door, and embracing me in a giant sister-like hug.

    “Rose!” I laughed, breaking away from her grip. I wanted to find Hugo. It was selfish, to want to see him, but I just had to.

    “Let me take your stuff. Mom and dad went to see Aunt Ginny and Aunt Angelina, but they’ll be home soon, I think. Take a few minutes. Look around, see what changed. Hugo is in his room, I think,” Rose informed me, and without giving me a minute to think, she took my bags and walked into the house, leaving me and Artemis, my cat, alone on the porch. Even then, Artemis caught sight of Luna, Rose’s cat, and leaped inside, leaving me dumbstruck.

    I walked inside slowly. It had been over two years since I’d been here, and it changed a lot. New floors, to wall colors, but a lot was the same too. Casually looking around, I walked up the stairs. Rose on the left, Hugo on the right, was the bedroom arrangement. Not even thinking, I opened Hugo’s door. I always carried the element of surprise I suppose, but this time, Hugo got the upper hand.

    “We should totally go to the lake- who are you?” A bottle blonde dressed like a prostitute, asked me in a voice, that to my ears, sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

    “Well, considering I’m living here for the next three days, I should be asking you the same question,” I snapped. So I wasn’t always as sweet as I looked. I was a different person when it came to Hugo. A person that I loved, but at the same time I hated.

    “I’m Elise. His girlfriend.” The words leaving my lips would have sounded like pure bliss, but from her lips, it sounded like vomit that Artemis puked up after eating too much food.

    Hugo let out a long sigh, I stood open mouthed, and Elise, or whoever the bloody hell she is, was smirking like a clown. I looked from Hugo to the cheap looking hooker. He forgot to mention this in the letter. He really forgot to mention this.

    “Oh…” was all I said, and then I left the room. Questions circled my head. Was she a wizard? I doubted that one. If she was, she certainly didn’t go to Hogwarts. Is she really his girlfriend? I never put anything past Hugo. What was I going to do now? I made a fool out of myself. I’m never like this.

    Never.

    Chapter Two

    I closed the trunk of the muggle car on top of my trunk and broom and walked up to the front of the car. Harry Potter was staring at me through the window and I quickly climbed into the passenger. He smiled and kissed my cheek paternally and pulled out of the parking space in front of the train station. I stayed with The Potters over Christmas holiday and the few days of summer holiday. They were my family. How it happened, I can hardly remember. I just know that my first year, James had taken a very protective hold over me. I think it was because I was American. But that makes no sense if you really think about it. James was just always there for me, and he took me home to his family. And now, Harry and Ginny were like second-parents to me. Ron and Hermione were like an aunt and uncle to me too. Hogwarts had not only brought me new friends, but a second family as well.

    "How was your holiday?" Harry asked, turning on the blinker and turning onto a different street.

    I smiled. "My parents took me to Disneyland." I giggled. To any muggle, that was a reasonable vacation. But to my wizarding family, they just got a hoot out of it. They didn't understand the point of it.

    Harry laughed. "Be sure to tell Ron that."

    "Oh I will." I grinned and sat back. I ran my fingers through my hair and closed my eyes.

    After about twenty minutes, the car pulled to a stop. "I'll get your trunk." Harry smiled. "Go on inside."

    "Thanks!" I called as I walked up the short walkway to the front door. Before I could knock on the door, it flew open. I saw a blur of James as he picked me up, wrapped his arms around me, and spun, squeezing me tight to his chest. "James!" I laughed and I heard someone yell, "Tibby?" and loud footsteps down the stairs.

    James set me down and messed up my hair. "Stop it." I said, pushing his hand away, and Harry was behind me with my trunk.

    He said an incantation and my trunk zoomed up to where I knew was Lily's room. Lily threw her arms around me and hugged me tightly, stumbling backwards into the house. "Hey Tibby." Ginny smiled and hugged me softly, feeling exactly how a mother should. Soft, strong, and invincible. I smiled up at her and saw Albus behind her, waiting to hug me. After I hugged him, Ginny told me to go upstairs to freshen up and take a nap if I wanted, because we were going to Ron's house for dinner. I thanked them and went upstairs to see an extra cot set up next to Lily's bed. I smiled gratefully and lay down on the bed, staring at the blue ceiling.

    "Yeah, she just got in." I heard Lily say as she walked down the hallway.

    "Excellent." I heard a voice that was too quiet to recognize.

    Suddenly, the door opened and light flooded in. I sat up and saw the door close behind the figure that had just entered. The lights flicked on and I saw Teddy leaning against the wall next to the switch. "Teddy!" I exclaimed and stood up. He grinned and picked me up in a hug that was just short of James'. He kissed me softly and held me again.

    "I missed you." He whispered, his breath warm on my neck.

    Words couldn't amount to how much I missed him. I just held him tighter and exhaled, happy to be in his arms once more.

    You never know what you have until it's gone. And I felt like I lost him every summer. I appreciated him more than ever right then, clean-shaven, smelling like soap, and a good 5 inches taller than me.

    Perfection.

    Chapter Three

    Dinner was uneventful, even with everyone that came. Harry and Ginny came with their kids, plus Tibby. George came with Angelina and his kids. Molly and Arthur came too. Then there was Hermione and Ron, Hugo and Rose, plus Elise and I. So all in all, there were tons of people, but I suppose everyone was used to it. When you grew up as a Weasley, or living in the household, you knew what a crowd was.

    Elise, however, looked disgusted with the amount of people, and everyone noticed too. I was sitting in between George and Tibby, and both of them had a few choice things to say about her. “What’s up her arse?” Tibby whispered as she passed the turkey. “I don’t know, but I don’t like her. I can’t wait to get back to Hogwarts,” I murmured, glancing over at the topic of conversation.

    I suppose once you got past the blonde hair and- oh let’s face it. The girl was as ugly as a blast-ended skrewt. Even Albus could see that, and we all joked that Albus was practically blind.

    Dinner carried on with the typical chatter that you get when you have so many people in the same room. Ron and Harry were talking about work. Ginny, Hermione, and Angelina were laughing about going shopping tomorrow for us kids. Tibby and James started talking about Quidditch. Oh, I didn’t mention that, did I? Tibby, Hugo, Albus, and I are on the Quidditch team. Hugo is our star keeper. I’m a chaser, and a pretty good one at that. Tibby and Albus? They can never seem to make up their minds, so they float between positions. The beauty of Quidditch, right?

    When the gathering was over, Hermione politely asked Hugo to take Elise outside. I didn’t feel right not helping in the clean-up process, so I stayed behind while everyone seemed to stumble out of the dining area. I wanted to talk to Hermione anyway. Hermione was a stand-in mom to me, like Molly was to Harry. I spent Christmas with them, and the only time that I wasn’t in school and wasn’t with them, was in the summer, when I went to Germany to visit my grandparents. My mother died soon after I left for my first year at Hogwarts, and I never met my dad. Minerva Mcgonagall tells me we should change my name to Weasley and be done with it. I can’t help but smile and nod when she says that.

    “Hermione?” I asked, as I walked over to the sink where she stood. It was funny. From day one, it was always “call me Hermione. Mrs. Weasley is my mother-in-law.”

    “Yes?” She turned to look at me, catching me staring out the window at Elise and Hugo.

    If I had to be honest, I’d tell you they looked happy. Genuine, and content. But there was a vibe between them that made it hard to watch. Not disgusting, no, but an uncomfortable feeling when you know that all is in fact, not well. I knew Hugo wouldn’t tell her about the wizarding world, and I knew that when we left for Hogwarts, she would never be seen again. It was a thought that made me want to jump for joy, but it made me rather sad, too. I’m sure Elise had never fallen subject to anyone like Hugo, and part of me felt sympathetic. I’m sure she was just stunned to see me earlier, and that she wasn’t all bad. However, this could just be the pumpkin juice talking.

    “What’s it like? Seeing someone you love with someone else?” I asked, because I knew she would talk to be. She had been there. I heard the story right from her mouth, and the rumors that still circled the halls of Hogwarts.

    “Oh Stephanie,” she sighed, but it was a sigh of endearment, rather than a sigh of frustration. “It hurts, so much, as you know, but it does get better. And most of the time, in our cases, the person you’re in love with is madly in love with you too. He really does love you. He just needs to realize that you’re right here. Sometimes boys are fickle. Hugo takes after his father in this case.” She chuckled on the last part, and suddenly, I felt at ease.

    “Oi!” Ron laughed as he walked into the kitchen. “Watch what you say, ‘Mione.”

    “Just remember Steph, you are always welcome here, and no matter what, you will always be a part of this family. Always a Weasley.” She hugged me gently, just like a mother would hug her child. But who was I kidding? Hermione practically was my mother, and she considered me her child.

    “Thank you” I murmured, then walked out of the kitchen after giving Ron a hug as well.

    I could have sworn though, just before I walked outside, that I heard Ron murmur, “just like you were always a part of my family,” to Hermione. And I knew, just then, that love can overcome anything. Anything at all.



    As most of you know, I'm a big Hermione/Ron shipper, and I couldn't pass up this cute little moment.
    Anyway, now we can get the ball rolling with drama, heartache, and maybe a few unforgivable curses in there.

    Chapter Four

    Dinner was somewhat boring, except for the cakefaced bimbo that joined us. I considered setting a nonverbal curse on her that made her want to poop every fifteen minutes, but forgetting that Hermione had learned Legilimency after Hogwarts, she gave me a stern look and shook her head, which stopped that idea in its tracks. Steph hung back to help her with the plates, and I know that she wanted to talk, so I busied myself in the living area with Grandpa Arthur. Technically, he wasn't half of our grandfathers but everyone called him that anyways.

    "I brought you something." I grinned as I sat on the couch next to him, and his face lit up.

    "Is it a printer?" He asked. He had just discovered computers, or compadders according to him, last year. And they were just absolutely fascinating, so fascinating in fact that I had to go into the Apple store and purchase one for him.

    "Not quite." I smiled as I pulled a toy light saber out of my bag that I bought at Disneyland.

    "A piece of plastic?" He asked, unamused. I laughed. "Not quite."

    I stood up in front of the maroon reclining chair that he was currently occupying, flicked my arm so that the saber extended to full length and pressed the button so that it lit up and made a whooosh sound. He gasped and pulled it out of my hands, lost in the world of Muggle minds. I smiled and kissed his forehead before walking outside and stumbling upon an intertwined Hugo and Elise. "Watch it, bitch." Elise snapped.

    I laughed. More of a cackle actually. "Oh honey, you really don't want to do that." I spit at her, venom seeping throughout my words.

    She glared at me and I laughed again. "What's funny?" She sneered.

    "That you think Hugo actually loves you." I smiled bitchily and stood there, in the glorifying moment where that ugly smirk slid off her face. "Catch you later, hon." I tossed a wink over my shoulder and sauntered off towards Teddy.

    "Hey." He slid his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder as we watched Albus smoke Rose in Quidditch. I sighed and leaned into him, his arms tightening around me. I turned my face so that my forehead was resting partially on his and his kissed my cheek.

    "Tibby!" Ron yelled and I exhaled a slight laugh and Teddy kissed my cheek again, releasing me to walk up the porch steps. "How are you sweetheart?" He asked, pulling me into a bone-crushing hug.

    "Now you pay attention to me." I said jokingly.

    He mussed my hair. "You know how I feel about you necking in public."

    I grimaced at him and he winked. "How's Shirley?" He asked, referring to my mum.

    "They're separating." I stared off into the distance. Uncle Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Ginny were the only ones who knew about my troublesome family.

    "I'm sorry." Ron said in a quiet, gentle tone.

    I laughed that laugh that people laugh in a tough subject. "It's okay."

    "Did the drinking clear up?" He asked. I think talking to Uncle Ron was the easiest, because he didn't make a big deal out of everything. He talked to me like an equal.

    I didn't know how to tell him that I had resorted to it myself, because they never noticed the depleted vodka bottles or empty Jack Daniels. "No." I said steely.

    "Well, good thing for you it's legal over here, huh?" He winked, knowing what I was trying to conceal, and with a wave of his wand two glasses of firewhiskey appeared in midair. "Don't tell 'Mione." He smiled and we both tossed back, swallowing the liquid fire.

    "Thanks." I smiled and I heard Ginny calling for all of us to gather our stuff. We said our rounds of 'goodbyes' and 'see you soons' before Apparating, or Side Along Apparating back to the Potters lovely abode. I climbed into bed with a warm, full stomach, a buzz that I had become accostomed to, and a clear head. As I was closing my eyes, a loud CRACK! filled the room, where Teddy side-apparated with James to give me a kiss goodnight, and with another CRACK! the room was silent again, and Lily and I fell asleep.

    Chapter Five


    You know, one might call the six hour journey to Hogwarts dull, and by standards, boring. However, the ride to Hogwarts was enjoyable. It meant catching up with friends, or in my case avoiding them as much as possible. I still wasn’t over Hugo’s actions. It was like a game, cat and mouse, girl and boy. Neither of us could really admit how much we needed one another. We were meant to be, clearly, but it would take time and effort to get to that point.

    “Is this seat taken, hon?” It was Albus Potter, one of my greatest and most supportive friends. He was the sweetest and by far the most like his father.

    “Hey Al, go right ahead,” I murmured.

    I glanced out the window, watching England roll by us. It was peaceful. I never wanted to sit with anyone, not even Tibby, because it gave me time to think, to mull things over. I loved the quiet hum of the train. It was like a soothing reminder that all would be well shortly. And these days, I needed that most.

    Albus looked out the window with me. I could tell that under his boyish exterior, he was like me. He was a bit venerable, wary, and even scared. Albus heard the stories, the stories of the War. Unlike most, he’s always been worried that someone would come back. A descendant of Voldemort, if that would be possible. But when you live in my world, anything is possible. And I mean anything.

    “Steph, do you ever wonder about your future?” He asked, almost like he could read my mind.

    “I always think about my future, Al. I wonder what will happen tomorrow, or later this year, even five years. I’ve always wondered.” I admitted.

    If I could talk to one person, it’d be Albus. We were the closest in age, and next to Hugo, Albus had always been the closest to me. We were all protective of him, but Tibby and I more so. We understood Albus, and he understood us.

    “He really does love you. He’s my cousin, and I’m a guy. I know him better than Rose does. Maybe even better than Aunt Hermione. You just have to wait for him, because He’s Hugo Weasley, and Hugo does what Hugo wants when he wants to do it. You just need to have a bit of faith in him. After the incident with Mercy, I can understand his hesitance. Even though you are, well, you, he’s still worried. More so because you are you, and the romantic aspect as always been there.”

    I stared at him, shock seeping through my pores. Albus Severus Potter just delivered the most touching speech of all time.

    “How- you..”

    “Don’t act like it’s not obvious, Steph. Everyone knows. Even my parents know. People just know these things, and it’s not like you try to hide them. I remember at dinner that night you stared that girl down because she was all over him. And I’m assuring you that if you give him some time, he’ll come around. He’d be stupid not to.” There was hidden longing in his words. I pretended not to notice, but I was torn.

    “Thanks, Albus.” I kissed his cheek as I gave him a hug.

    “You’re the best friend a girl could ever have,” I laughed.

    He suddenly jerked up to leave. He stood standing at the door to the compartment, like he was contemplating his next move. He opened the door, as if I dismissed him.

    “A friend. That’s all I’ll ever be.” He muttered under his breath.

    And I knew that second, that I had dug myself a hole so deep. And I wasn’t sure if I could get out.




    I apologize for such a short chapter, and such a long wait. This is only 626 words, and I'm sorry if it disappoints.

    I feel as if I should explain where I tried to go with this chapter.
    I've introduced a big character who will play a big part in the romantic plots of the story.
    A little back information is needed to fully understand, and I'll go into depth in upcoming chapters,
    but I will add some for you now so you understand.

    Albus has had a minor crush that has gone from being small, to rather large.
    He's torn between wanting to be happy for Hugo, and wanting to be upset.
    Steph has made it quite clear that she wants to remain only friends with Albus,
    however that's hard, as she always goes to him for romantic advice.

    I tried to convey the feelings of betrayal, and a bit of hidden envy as much as possible,
    and I am truly sorry if you don't think his chapter is up to par. I will work harder in the future.
