"I can't do it!" I scream.
Adam and Kyle both give me the same unamused/irritated glare. God, they're definitely brothers. Kyle sighs. "Sarah, get in the fucking water before I hit you."
I narrow my eyes, holding the rope tighter. "You can't hit a girl, asshole."
"You're not a girl in our books," Kyle says with a smirk.
My jaw drops, and I'm so offended I want to rip his head off. I send him a glare that could kill Bambi, and I prolong my entrance to the water.
Adam frowns. "Well," He says, looking at my chest. "She's a girl in my book..." He makes a gesture towards his chest. "I mean, clearly."
Kyle tilts his head a little bit, as if in deep thought. "Yeah, you have a point..."
"Oh my God!" I say. "I can't believe you two are having this conversation!"
Adam grins sheepishly, but Kyle shows no remorse. "Maybe if you'd jump in," He says, "we wouldn't be having it."
I squeeze the rope in my hands and step off the sunken log. For three seconds I'm in the air, and then I let go and sink under the murky water. I come up sputtering, and my tank top is soaked through because I forgot to take it off.
Adam laughs so hard he has to hold his sides, and Kyle has a smug look on his face.
I want to smack them both, so I do. Kyle whines, but Adam laughs harder. So I jump on his back and sink him underwater, which is a hard feat because he's six-foot-two and the water is only three or four feet deep.
He stands up, and I'm clinging to his back now. "Really?" He asks. "Really, Sarah?"
"Really, really," I say with a satisfied sigh. "You can put me down now."
In response, he drops me onto my butt, and I go under again.
Kyle laughs really hard, and Adam joins in.
Damn them and their taking joy in my humiliation. "I hate you guys," I say. "Seriously."
"Seriously," Adam mimicks before he picks me up and throws me in the air once more.
AN: We found a rope swing in the river/creek thing, and we were there for hours. I slipped off the log that you stand on, and I fell in the water between the log and this tree that had all these knarly roots and stuff. SCARIEST. THING. EVER. I could feel all this crap with my legs, but I couldn't touch the bottom.
I was sooo scared, but everyone just laughed at me. >.<
