He stepped closer and she started. "Please don't," She said quietly. "It'd ruin everything."
"Everything?" He mocked. "Everything for you! You're so selfish, and it's disgusting."
She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her best friend was turning into a monster right before her eyes. She hadn't meant for everything to become such a mess; she'd really tried to keep everything balanced. But it all fell to shit anyway, and now she was paying for it. Paying for it because he was right; she was selfish.
"Wait, it's not like that. I was just trying to--"
"Hook up with my brother?" He interrupted sharply. He scowled. "Don't tell me I'm wrong because I'm not blind! I see how you always look at him. I know you like him; it's so obvious. This weekend you pushed it too far."
"I didn't mean to!" She cried desperately. This situation was spiraling out of her control, or maybe it wasn't ever in her control in the first place. "It's just... He's leaving in a week! I couldn't just watch him go. If I hadn't said anything he'd be gone forever."
"But I'd still be here," He said. "Apparently that's not good enough though. Your best friend is worthless when his good-looking older brother isn't around, right? Do you even like me? How long have you just used me?"
"No! I love you. You're my best friend!" Desperate, she was so desperate to keep him close. She could say anything, do anything, anything.
AN:This is a dream I had the other night. I woke up crying. And I can't remember the rest of it so that's why it kind of just stops. Sorry for being random. I HAVE CHAPTER TWELVE OF "THE ALMOST FOREVER GIRL" WRITTEN. But not eleven. >.<
