She smoothed down her summer dress and looked down at her sandals. She walked into the party and smiled at the many people she knew. Her ex boyfriend was there, but she didn't care. She had no regrets. "Hi Henry." She smiled. "Hello Lucy." He nodded. She flounced away, not even thinking about the fact that he hardly made eye contact with her. "Lucy!" Ben called and Lucy beamed, walking over to him. "Hey." She smiled, enveloping him in a hug. He hugged her tightly, but set her down all too quickly. An hour later and a few drinks into the party, Ben and Lucy were standing by the wall. Neither of them noticed the fact that Henry was watching. Ben leaned in and kissed her perfectly pink lips, her blonde hair falling over her shoulder. "Hey!" Henry shouted and pushed Ben. "What the hell man?" Ben asked, turning on Henry. "Henry!" Lucy squealed. "Get away from her." Henry took a step at Ben. "Henry." Lucy repeated, but he was ignoring her. "Jake!" She called out. Jake looked in her direction. "How many drinks did he have?" Lucy asked, trying to keep her voice in check. "I dunno. A few beers." Jake shrugged and turned back to Kayla. Ben was trying to talk Henry down. "Henry." She stepped in between the two of them just as Henry went to take a blow at Ben. It hit her in the jaw. She fell to the floor, crying out in pain. "Lucy!" Ben shouted. "Aw shit Luce." Henry fell to his knees. "I'm fine." Lucy rubbed her jaw, her eyes welling up. "Lucy," Henry started. "I think it would be best if you just left." Lucy whispered and Henry stiffened, walking away. Lucy walked away from Ben and found Carter, her brother, and left, not wanting anyone to ask any questions or start anything. "Are you okay?" Carter asked her. And for the first time in two years, he heard the answer, "No."
