She was a gang member. Of what gang, we can only guess. Tattooed on her forearm was three circles and a peculiar star in the middle.
He was a banker. He worked at one of the most prestigious banks in New York, he graduated from Yale’s school of business. He made a good six figures each year.
She wore vintage rock band tees and hotpants, with steel-toe boots.
He wore expensive suits and Buddy Holly glasses.
She hung out downtown every night, hiding in shadows and occasionally ambushing passerby or members of other gangs.
He went home to his penthouse and drank expensive wine with his banker-mates, in an unspoken competition to be the smartest and richest.
She’d broken quite a few hearts, but she’d never actually liked any of her boyfriends enough to shag them.
He had smiling, attractive secretaries in every other corner, but he never thought about taking any of them home.
