I sat in the mini Jeep, waiting for Sam, the neighbor’s boy, to climb in and drive me around my Aunt’s backyard. I was mad because I would’ve been deep in the pool right now with my bestest friend in the whole world, Jonathan. My cheeks were probably as red as a strawberry and I had my hands crossed over my chest so it would look like I was frustrated.
“Are we going or what?!” I yelled at Sam.
“Fine,’ he laughed at me. I planned to dig up a few worms and stick them in his board shorts. Then I looked over at Jonathan. His brown hair was wet and he looked completely mad.
Sorry, I mouthed to him. He just looked away. My day was already horrible, from that one look.
