STARdom
There's no hiding in this town.
I used to wish life would last forever.
“How so?”
Well, when I was a little girl with my growing mind full of wild stories and catching butterflies, I thought my life was perfect. Which was why when I was little I wished for life to go on forever and never end.
“Tell me, when did you decide to stop wishing for life to last forever?”
I stopped when my life suddenly turned from better-to-worse.
Being the daughter of two famous actors sure has its perks. And, of course, faults.
Jennifer Le’Anne Smith is the daughter to Mr. and Mrs. William Murphy Smith.
Her parents met while they were co-starring for a movie and they were inseparable ever since. Or, that’s what they say. After her parents gave birth to Jennifer, her parents constantly fought and now, nothing was normal. At dinner, no one would talk to each-other. Everything would be silent and within five minutes, her parents would leave again to go back to ‘work’. When in reality, maybe they were just leaving the house to be away from each-other.
That’s how it was every night.
It wasn’t like Jennifer could do anything about it. She was too busy herself to dwell on things such as her parent’s relationship. At the age of three, her parents started auditioning for her to make guest appearances as a toddler on all the projects they worked on plus being on commercials and even featuring in her own show, that lasted up to four seasons but ended because Jennifer became too old for her role along with everyone else.
Still, her parents continued to put her in every audition there was out there in Hollywood. She knew nothing of such things as, “school” or “friends”. The only friend she ever truly had was her co-star in one of the movies she starred on Disney Channel when she was thirteen but then once Jennifer decided to not continue her time with Disney, her friend did and since then they never talked.
Now, Jennifer is sixteen and lives her life everyday by working on her lines, songs, and attending luncheons with friends of either parents. She never had a regular teenage life. She was never allowed to wear such “outrageous” clothes or so her parents say like ripped jeans and Converse. They never believed in wearing such things!
Instead, since Jennifer was born she was forced to wear the best of the best. Every popular designer there was out there, she always received their newest designs before it hit the stores because her mom had special connections with the designers, themselves.
Sure, Jennifer lived the so-called life of luxury that a person always longs for, but in the inside Jennifer wasn’t happy. She was forced to be someone she wasn’t. She was forced to date people she barely even knew just so they can gain publicity off of her.
Even though her parents wanted her to be an actress for as long as she lived. Jennifer wanted to be different. She was tired of always living up to her parent’s expectations.
She was tired of being in the limelight, period. She wanted to stand up for herself, and do her thing. Not someone else’s just so they can be happy and not she.
Now, that all that changes once she meets a mysterious new musician one night at a club named, Drew. He seems like the guy you wouldn’t want to bring home to Mama. His music is powerful that has deep meaning. Deep things that occurred in his past. His life. To Jennifer, this was her dream guy. He was different. And he was someone she never thought even existed.
Now, in her battle to be herself amongst this big, cruel world. She’s going to do all she can to be with Drew.
Even if it means, revealing him to the outside world.
Like people always say,
Hollywood is a dangerous place.
It’s a Hell on Earth.
