I walked down the newly cleaned hallway, my bag slung over my shoulder. All the cliques were clumping together at this time and the teachers were wondering
over buying that skirt with the apple on it or not. And there I was, walking along with my Converse on and comfortably worn skinny jeans. This is where this story starts
out. I was looking for my best friend, Aron, and I couldn't find him anywhere. As usual, I giggled at Adelaide Watts, the dumb blonde-haired girl that was confused
at the pink backpack dumped in front of her locker that was hers. Daniella Jetson was fiddling with her pin straight red hair and her unfortunate boyfriend Gregg was looking up at the ceiling, probably wondering when he could get some action. Typical. I was taking long strides down the hallway so I could get to Aron's homeroom quicker when I passed the Bulletin Board. Yes, every normal high school has that stupid board where the office people tack things up, hoping the kids would actually read it. Pinned to the board was a blue flyer with yellow stars on it. Want to sing? was written on it big and bold and it caught my eye immediately. Ever sinceI was a little girl, I craved for people to watch me sing. I loved to belt out Broadway tunes while I played the piano part in front of my grandpa. And the craving had grown over the years until I was in every choir and school play I could get my hands on, since getting a part was easy due to vocal training since I was four. To all singers!, it said, listen up! At this upcoming football game, we're going to feature the best singer in McKinley High to sing during half-time! Auditions are this Friday so come
on up! I practically sung Hallelujah at this. My chance to shine...again.
"You all right?" Aron Smiths snuck up behind me.
"Aron!" I laughed and threw my arms around him.
He laughed too and said,” What are ya all happy about?" He asked.
"This." I held up the flyer to his nose.
"Ahhh." He nodded. "That’s perfect for you." Aron was the
bestest friend a girl could have. Sure he was a boy, but that meant I had a different opinion on things.
“Are you going to try out?”
“Yes,” I said. “I have a master plan.”
