Things Forbidden

This is a poem I'm going to try and have published in our
school's Creative Writing/Photo newspaper! I hope you guys like it.

Things Forbidden
I have not much to offer,
nor to much to give,
but I can promise thee my heart,
as long as I shall live.

Sometimes things forbidden, are things most sweet and fine,
and if you can't promise me a life of gold,
at least vow to always be mine.
If these desires to you heart do call,
then come with me and be my all.

I do not have much money,
nor castles can I buy,
nor adventures that come with age,
my my innocence comes with no price- no lies.

Devotion in place of finer things,
Secrets in place of jewels.
Things loving made by gentle hands,
instead of loving spent by fools.

Sometimes things forbidden, are things most bright and true.
And if you cannot promise me the world,
let me always be with you.
If these desires to your heart do call,
then stay with me and be my all.

I cannot persuade you to do what you wont,
nor can I will you to try, but,
I can stay and wait for you,
and stay I will, no matter what.

As they say "Violent delights have violent ends,"
which means I cannot promise forever.
But if these desires to your soul do call,
then for sacred moments, we'll be together.
