Prologue.

Hi, my name is Jasmin.
Currently at my school, Harrison High School, I am known as just part of the crowd.
Nothing special. Just ordinary.
I don't play any type of sport, I don't have a talent, I'm not the genius of my class. I'm not the prom queen.
I'm just a student at Harrison Highschool.
But I just thought I would tell you how much love sucks.
It's not real.
It's just a myth, doesn't exist.
Trust me on this, this topic I know about. Because I've tried finding love. It's obviously no where to be found.
And because of this fact that love is just a word and nothing more, I have decided to do my senior project on how love is nothing but a myth.
I thought I could use all my past boyfriends, All of whom I thought I was in love with, as proof.
What an interesting way to end my highschool career and move on to be a college freshmen telling this story to my future friends at my future university. No?
Lets just get on with the story..About the day that I shot cupid.

This is where it practically all started, my first boyfriend.
Well actually, he wasn't my first boyfriend. I had "boyfriends" in middle school, but I just don't count those as actual relationships. I mean seriously, would you count your relationships when you were in middle school? The ones where you were to afriad to talk to the guy, you wouldn't ever hang out with him, and if you ever saw each other in a public place you would ignore each other. You wouldn't count them? Yeah, me either.
So I'll just rephrase that, my first SERIOUS boyfriend.

His name was Cade, I was fourteen and just entering highschool. Now get ready, this is about to sound like a Taylor Swift song. You know the one, "Fifteen", which is actually an incorrect song. You don't enter highschool at fifteen years old, you enter at fourteen. I don't know what kind of schools she goes to, maybe one where all the girls got held back a year...But where im from you go to highschool at fourteen years old, hear that Swifty? FOURTEEN. YEARS. OLD.

Oops, getting off track here, anyways back to what I was saying. His name was Cade, he was one year older than me. It was the longest relationship I had ever had, two months. The two of us hung out all the time, I was so inlove with that guy, or so I thought.
I hoped that he loved me too. We never actually said that we loved each other, but I kind of always thought we just knew, that it was there, and that we both felt it so we didn't have to say it. I thought it was like if you were eating with a person, you don't have to say "Hey. Im eating." because they already mnow that you're eating! So I thought we both knew that we were in love so it was stupid to just say "Hey. Im in love with you."

Even though it wouldve been nice to hear...

Well, like I said we hung out every day, except Saturdays. Which typically would be the day you would mostlky hang out, right? Yeah well he claimed he was jewish, and that he went to church on Saturdays.
So I believed him.
He also had a no touching below the belt rule, he said it was just apart of being jewish.
I respected that, because I trusted and loved him so much.

I know, I know, I sound like such a cleshay. Falling in love so fast.
But hey, it was my first real relationship, I fell and boy did I fall hard for this guy.

Well, it was on his birthday that we broke up....

It was on a Saturday and it was his sixteenth birthday. Even though I knew he said not to see, text, or just have any contact with him at all on Saturdays..I went to his house anyways with a little cake for his birthday.
I mean, what kind of girlfriend would I be if I didnt get him something on his birthday? A bad one, I thought.

So I thought I would surprise him and I throw open the door to his bedroom and yell surprise, only to find out that....

Cade was gay.

I was just a cover up because he wasn't ready to come out to everybody yet.

He was really having a relationship with Josh Pallas.

So, when he saw me he said he was gay, took the cake, and then said lets break up.

But worst of all, he ended it by saying "But we can still be friends."
I hate the man who came up with that line...All women of the world want him dead.

Well, this break up really hurt me. I started to eat my feelings away. I gained 90 pounds. I ended up being 205 lbs!

But then I got over and went to fat camp, lost the weight, and being the young and niave girl I was I thought I would give love another shot.

I just wish I knew then what I know now, that love doesn't really exist.

**sigh**
