Sabra lightly traces the bruise on her arm. It barely hurts to touch anymore and has turned a nasty shade of yellowing green. That’s good though, it means it’s healing. She tucks a piece of dark hair behind her ear and glances at her phone, sighing. Ten to nine.
“Sabra?” A disembodied voice floats down the hallway. A moment later, Keiran pokes his head into the room and gives her a breathtaking smile. His green eyes are dancing and his ink black hair is tousled to perfection. Sabra grins, wondering how she could be so lucky as to have him. His smile falters as he takes her in and Sabra’s breathe catches in her throat.
“Something wrong?” She asks airily, instinctively clenching her entire body at the sight of his expression.
“Uh, aren’t you going to get dressed? We’re leaving soon.”
“I am dressed.” Sabra says, trying to force a lightness into her voice, to keep it from quavering, at the very least. She gets off of the bed on shaking legs to show off her new dress. “How do I look?”
Keiran raises his hand and Sabra flinches unconsciously, taking a small step back. Keiran’s eyes fill with pain.
“Did you think I was going to hit you?”
Sabra shakes her head unconvincingly. “Of course not.”
Keiran crosses the space between them in a few strides and takes her into his arms. He leans close, his breathe hot in her ear.
“I would never hurt you.” He murmurs, stroking her hair. She closes her eyes in contentment as he kisses her neck softly. The smell of his cologne is intoxicating and she fills her lungs with it, unable to imagine a more perfect moment. Lost in her small, perfect haven, Sabra almost misses his next word, spoken in the lightest feather of a breathe. “Again.”
I couldn't resist haha Comments for motivation?
/I want to name my kids Sabra and Keiran. I think they're such pretty, unique names, so I'm trying them out on my characters. What do you think?
Oh and, as for the name, it's from a quote I found that I really like because it's a good description of my current mindset:
“Obsessed by a fairytale, we spend our lives searching for a magic door and a lost kingdom of peace.”
That and I love fairytales.
