Harry and Voldemort... related?

It's stunning, but true. Voldemort and Harry Potter are distant cousins. In Deathly Hallows, it is noted that Harry is descended from Ignotus Peverell, the third brother. Voldemort's grandfather, Marvolo Gaunt, boasted about his distant relative, Cadmus Peverell, the second brother who owned the Resurrection Stone.
I looked up Voldemort on Wikipedia and found this:

The Gaunts, and thereby Voldemort, are distantly related to Harry Potter because they are descendants of the Peverell brothers.[55]

but now i think about it, they do mention harry and the gaunts are descended from the peverells.

Yeah, that makes sense. Even if that connection wasn't showed Harry and Voldemort would still be related because the Potters were pureblood and so were the Gaunts (correct me if I'm wrong!) So if we're going by pureblood lines, Harry and Voldemort would be related somehow but still, very, very, very distant! (haha this is still all so mind boggling when you think about it.)
