    Preface:

    Becca Andrews walked through the door of the fifth grade classroom.
    Being the new student wasn't a good thing, she didn't know a single
    face in the room. She felt so alone, so unwanted, so scared.
    She just stood there in the doorway, to fearful to move.
    "You must be Becca! Hi, Im Mrs. Lovely! Welcome to Steel Elementary!"
    Said the teacher, all pudgy and smiley.
    "Well come, come dear!" She grabbed Beccas' hand and draged her to the
    center of the class.
    "Students! We have a new comer! Her name is Becca Andrews, welcome her"
    Mrs. Lovely announced, all eyes were on her, she wanted to go back in
    time to five minutes ago when she was invisible.
    She quickly walked to an empty seat, not wanting people to come up to
    her.
    "Hello Becca, Im Bentley" Beccas' head popped up to see a boy smiling
    down at her, his face so welcoming and friendly.
    Her heart fluttered, she was in love at ten years old.
    He had her at 'Hello'

    One

    Fast forward five years, Becca and Bentley are now fifteen years old, and best friends. They hung out every single day, they would walk home from school together, then hang out at Becca's house until about eleven at night. Its been that way for awhile, Becca knew Bentley most likely didn't intend on changing that routine, but she wished for it more than ever. She wanted to have a boyfriend, not just any ole' guy to be a boyfriend, she wanted Bentley.
    They two hardly dated people, because it jsut felt awkward to have the other guy or girl around hanging out with them. And most of the time if Bentley had a girlfriend, she would get jealous and upset he was hanging out with Becca, and if Becca had a boyfriend he would get jealous and upset she was hanging around Bentley so much. They couldn't just stop being friends, thats why the hardly dated, so much problems.
    People should just learn to trust.
    * * *
    "GET UP BECCCAAAA!" the feel of a pillow hitting her face and the ringing in her ears of a yell made Becca's eyes fly open.
    There was Bentley, her best friend, standing above her ready with another pillow to throw.
    "whhaaa?" Becca tried to say, but she was to tired to process words.
    "Get up lazy! FIRST DAY OF SHOPHMORE YEAR!" Bentley began to jump on the bed, making Becca fall out onto the floor.
    "Lemme sleep!" Becca whinned and ocvered her face with one of the pillows he threw at her.
    Bentley sighed and jumped off the bed, grabbed Becca's ankles, and began to drag her to the bathroom.
    "Noooo! Can we skip today?!? Please!" Becca whinned even more, she doesn't like school that much.
    "Becca, wake up,im not leaving without you!" Bentley declared, Becca sat up straight and began to brush her hair.
    "Hurry, you have ten minutes" Bentely said and layed back on the bed.
    "What should I wear?" Becca asked from the bathroom, finishing her make up and hair.
    "I dont know!?" Bentley said, such a guy.
    "Skirt of jeans?"
    "Jeans"
    "Ok, dressy-ish shirt, or causual?"
    "Dont. Care."
    "You are no help"
    "Thank you!"
    Becca walked back into her bedroom, Bentley still laying on the bed, looking like he was about to fall asleep too.
    "Wake up!" Becca threw a pillow at him ,his eyes reopened.
    "You look pretty" He said in a mumbled voice.
    "Why thank you" Becca looked through her closet for stuff to wear, nothing seemed right.
    "Hurry, five minutes!" Bently said sarcasticly waving his arms in the air.
    "Okay! Dont look" She said, Bentley closed his eyes and Becca got dressed.
    "okay, Im ready" Becca said and picked up her purse and walked out the bedroom door, Bentley followed.
    Time for grade ten.

    Two

    "Did I ever tell you I don't enjoy school?" Becca asked sarcastically while the two walked to their first day of school.
    "No, no? I don't recall you ever saying that" Bentley replied with equal sarcasim.
    "Oh my gosh! You just learned something and the first day hasn't even begun yet!" Becca laughed and teased him.
    "My mommy would be so proud!" Bentley joked and laughed along with Becca.
    "Hey but in all seriousness" Bentley said, still trying to catch his breath from laughing.
    "What?" Becca asked, she hated when he got serious, he wasn't fun.
    "Do you think we should like date people this year? I mean I know it was awkward before, but maybe people have gotten used to it and matured?" Bentley said. He said it so fast it took Becca a few seconds to understand and process what he said.
    "What?" Becca asked, in a miniature shock that he wanted to date other people.
    "Well I just thought it would be good for us" He said, now avoiding to look in her eyes.
    "What do you mean?" She asked, more confused than ever.
    "Well, don't you ever think we might be... to close?" Bentley asked and shrugged his shoulders.
    "Um, no? Do you" Becca asked, afriad of the answer. She didn't want to lose him. He was her everything.
    "Nahh, im playing! I just wanted to see what you'd say" Bentley laughed and gentley nudged her.
    "Oh my gosh! Bent! You compeletly freaked me out right then!" Becca laughed and pushed him in the side.
    Bentley just laughed and smiled. which made Becca smile.
    Maybe this year wasn't going to be that horrible, as long as she had Bentley with her.

    Three

    Becca and Bentley sat on the main steps infront of the school. The bell had not rang yet so they were going to spend their last minutes of freedom outside of the school doors.
    "Is it to late to run back home?" Becca asked, she didn't really care for school. If it wasn't law required she wouldn't come.
    "Sorry, but you have to go." Bentley said, he knew that she dreaded school so after about a year he stopped trying to make her be more happy about it.
    "So, am I coming over after school?" Bentley asked with a smile, he already knew the answer.
    "Duh, like you always do, and will" Becca said with a smile, she messed with her edge of her shirt. She just wore a green v-neck polo with dark skinny jeans and toms.
    "Just makin' sure, I was wondering if you just thought we would chage up the plans" He said with a shrug.
    "What's with all these questions and comments about 'changing things up' if you wanna stop hanging out with me, I understand" Becca said with fake saddness. But on the inside she was actually hurting. Its been the same routine for five years, whats with the sudden want of change?
    "Of course not! I love hanging out with my Becca" He said, he twirled a strand of Beccas firey red, curly hair around his finger. Both natural color and natural curls.
    "Well then stop talking about it, it's getting on my nerves" She said, she dropped the edge of her shirt, she was about to poke a hole through it.
    "Sorry, what do you want to talk about?" Bentley asked, he let go of her hair and leaned back on the steps.
    "Random questions?" Becca suggested, it was like a game the played. Everytime they were bored, they would ask random questions.
    "Mars of Venus?" Bentley asked.
    "Mars! They've got candy bars!" Becca said, Bentley laughed and she smiled. She loved the way he laughed. They only way she would be happy with a change was if that change was moving from friends to boyfriend and girlfriend.
    "Okay, Um...Mental problems?" Becca asked.
    "One, insomnia! thats a mental problem right?" Bentely replied.
    "I have that too! And I don't know? I would think so" Becca said.
    Since they both couldn't sleep at night, and were only three doors down from each other they talked twenty four seven. One of the perks of friends with insomnia.
    For the next ten minutes, the rest of their freedom time, they pondered if insomnia counted as a mental problem.
    Ding Ding Ding.
    "Well hell starts now" Becca said and just remained sitting down. Bentley grabbed his bookbag and stood up.
    "Get up Becca" He said, talk about flash back to this morning, he grabbed her hands and pulled her up off of the steps.
    Ew, School.

    Becca and Bentley wanted into the double doors of the school.
    Unlike every single student in the whole school, Becca and Bentley chose not to go to the meet-and-greet to get their scheldules early and see their classes beforehand. Nope, they chose to start peparing for school early by practicing what they do best when it comes to school, procastinate. They did very well.
    The two walked into the main office and asked for their semester schedules.
    "What's your first period?" Becca scanned her schedule and looked at her four classes:

    1.) French 3
    2.) British Litature
    3.) Photography/Art
    4.) Interior Design Intro.
    homeroom= Riggins
    lunch block= B

    She rolled her eyes, she didn't really want to take french again.
    "You've got Brit. Lit. second? We have that class together!" Bentely said, Becca got alittle bit happier.
    "What's your lunch block?" He asked her, looking down at his own schedule.
    "I've got B" She said, putting her schedule in her back pocket.
    They started walking down the hallway towards the stair case.
    "Me too, we've got lunch!" He said, he was smiling a half smile. Becca noticed a freshmen girl look at Bentley with dazzeled eyes, she gave Becca a snear, probably thinking she was his girlfriend.
    "Lemme see your schedule." Becca said and snatched the small paper out of his hands.
    "Aww we only have lunch and that one class together!" Becca said and handed him the paper back.
    "Why do we have to take Brit. Lit. anyways? We live in America...What happened to American Lit?" Bentley asked, he crumbled the paper and dropped it in his backpack.
    "We passed it last year silly" Becca laughed at his somewhat ignorant question, considering he already knew the answer.
    "Well whatever, Ill see you in an hour and a half!" Bentley said as they reached the second floor.
    "Bye!" Becca called after him and then continues to walk up the stairs to the fourth floor for her first day of French three.
    Ding. Ding. Ding.
    Great. First day and already late for class.

    Becca saw Bentley waiting for her outside by the stairs at the end of school.
    He was looking down at his phone, who was he talking to?
    Becca sped up her pace,
    "Hey!" Becca said with a smile as she got closer.
    The windy air didn't send chill bumps dorm her arms as much as his smile did.
    "Hey, how was the first day of hell?" Bentley asked, picking his book bag off of the ground.
    "Ehh, Pretty good. I would've still rather been at home just hanging out" She said, the two started making their way home.
    "Me too, I guess....I liked it, met some new people" Bentley smiled, his phone buzzed again.
    Becca just shook her head, she didn't want to be like 'who?' that would seem to creepy.
    "So are we still hanging out?" He asked, breaking the silence.
    "Yup, as always" Becca smiled up to him.
    "Good, I was kinda hoping you wouldn't meet anybody today who you would rather hang out with later instead of me" He blushed alittle.
    "I could never!" Becca said with sarcasim and laughed, he laughed along with her.
    Atleast the rest of the day was going to be good too

    Chapter Six

    Becca and Bently sat in the living room of Becca's house. They were watching the scariest movie ever, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
    The little orange people were so creepy, it was scary.
    Becca gripped a sofa pillow tightly close to her face. The little creepers started to sing that evil little song and she just couldn't watch.
    "Haha! Becs it's not that bad, haah" Bentley laughed at her, he wasn't tormented by this movie at all.
    "Shut up! Tell me when they're done sining! I can't listen!" Becca screamed from behind the fort of pillows she just created to block out the sound of the orange creepers.
    "Wanna stop watching the movie?" Bentley asked, in a normal tone.
    "YES!" Becca yelled from her fort, very loudly.
    She could hear him chuckling as he turned off the movie.
    "Is it off?" Becca asked, slowly coming out of the pillow fort.
    "yes" Bentley said, still laughing.
    "Okay.." Becca sighed, she sat up straight on the couch, all the pillows that had fallen behing her made sure of that.
    "Whatcha wanna do now?" Bentely asked, he grabbed the popcorn bowl beside their feet and crashed back down on the couch.
    "I dunno, we can do whatever." Becca said, she grabbed some popcorn.
    Bentley's eyes got wide.
    "What?" Becca asked with a mouthful of popcorn.
    "Lets go to the playground!!!" Bentely said, he sounded like a little kid.
    Becca justlaughed,
    "Okay! Lets go!" They two jumpe up and ran out of the house, the playground was calling their names.
