Massie Block stood in front of the mirror, surveying her first day of school outfit. A very short high waisted floral skirt, a black V-neck sweater tucked in, and black gladiator sandles that buckled up to her knee. Her hair was in loose waves and they were long, reaching down her back. She had perfected the smoky eye, and with a final spritz of her Chanel No. 9, she was finally ready. Claire was waiting by the Range Rover in a Massie-approved sundress and Tory Burch flats (last season) and her makeup was done well.
"Who did your makeup?" Massie peered at Claire's seemingly flawless face.
Claire blushed. "I did." She started picking at her nails, which she often did when she was under the Queen-Bee's scrutiny.
Massie saw this rush of insecurity. She swatted Claire's hand and muttered, "It looks nice." Before climbing into the car.

Massie slammed her locker door shut, thanking the heavens that today was only freshman. Of course, nobody knew that she was nervous but Bean, who could never spill her insecurities. She strode into her French class, where a sophomore class officer was sitting. They had shown up on Freshman Orientation day to help with any questions that they had, and it was always easier to ask a peer rather than a teacher. She had long, full blonde hair, bored blue eyes, and a gold band on her right hand. Massie's gaze fixed on the band and knew that it was like the bracelets she had given the Pretty Committee before. The girl's blue eyes sprung to life and she straightened up, gazing at Massie. Massie stiffened and stared back, willing to win this battle. "Massie Block?" The girl asked. "Who wants to know?" She snapped. But Massie was flattered. An upperclassman knew her name. "Jenna Bordeaux." The girl smiled. Massie softened slightly. "Pleasure." She said politely, turning to go find a seat. "Hold on," Jenna said, twisting the gold band around her finger. And something in Massie's mind clicked. The Golden Girls. She had heard of them before, but never met them. They were like the PC but with gold bands... pretty, popular, and positively hostile. Massie raised her eyebrows at her. "The GG's are throwing a party on Friday night and we heard that the PC was. . . well, most like us. We want to welcome you into highschool, and we somewhat want to take you under our wing." Jenna winked. Massie pondered this slightly. Her time was running up, the bell was going to ring soon. "Facebookt the deets." Massie said and turned around, finding her seat. When she looked back up, Jenna was gone. 'First day of school and already invited to a party. That's how we do.' She thought as she settled into her chair.
